2002 Election results:
CADA members have elected as their new vice-president, Steve Reichert.   The two new members of the Board are Susan De Antonio and Dale Moone.  They will officially take office at the October CADA conference in Ohio. Congratulations Steve, Susan, and Dale!

7-22-02 Jim Butterworth resigns board post

From president Jeanne Brock: It is with regret that I have accepted the resignation of Jim Butterworth as a member of CADA's Board of Directors.  He cites other business obligations which leave him little time  as the reason for this decision.

Jim is one of the pioneers in the development of the accelerant detector canines, from the very beginning, and his knowledge and expertise have made him a great asset to CADA.  We thank him for the fine articles he wrote for our newsletter, for his generous assistance to the working teams at past conferences, for his willingness to help when called; for things too numerous to mention.   Jim, we will miss you very, very much.

To fill Jim's unexpired term on the Board, I, acting in my capacity as President of CADA, appoint John Frazier to this vacant Board position.  John was in the third place in the elections for Board members.  This appointment is effective immediately.

For those handlers who have Maine-trained dogs, Billy Switzer will be in Long Beach to conduct the testing and certification of all Maine dogs.
May 17 will consist of lectures by top K-9 specialists in the fields of veterinary medicine, first aid and nutrition.  Friday and Saturday, the 18th and 19th, will consist of proficiency testing of the teams.  Plans are to use actual burned sites in addition to controlled environments.
